COVIDWM.org

Website strategy, design, development, launch and maintenance.

Planned, designed and launched over the course of three days, COVIDWM.org was a collaborative response to the COVID-19 pandemic in West Michigan. The West Michigan COVID-19 Business Coalition came together as a united front to assist businesses during an uncertain and tumultuous time.

As marketing and communications manager for The Right Place, Inc., a convening member of the coalition, I was tasked with proposing a site structure and developing the microsite within the week that the tactic was agreed upon.

In the first four weeks of being launched, COVIDWM.org received more than 11,500 visits. The site was also featured in an segment with Bloomberg Philanthropies during an interview with City of Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalyn Bliss.

rightplace.org

As marketing and communications manager for The Right Place, Inc., I led the redesign and launch of the organization's website in summer of 2021.

Working closely with a local development firm, we were able to develop an extensive site with a fresh look and feel that better reflected the brand's presence.

Once the firm completed the design and development stages with my guidance, I then spearheaded the web content development phase. This included crafting new, engaging content and/or transferring existing content for the site's 300+ pages. This process was paired with extensive SEO research and optimization efforts.

rightplacereport.org

As marketing and communications manager for The Right Place, Inc., I was responsible for the creation of the organization's interactive annual report site.

I spearheaded the redesign and launch of this site each year during my time with the organization, realigning the look and feel to match that of the print report. I also supported copywriting efforts for the print and digital versions of the reports.

Content Creation

I have developed an extensive library of original content throughout my career, from press release announcing business expansions, annual reports, featured articles in local and national publications, and more.

Below are a few highlights I've selected to showcase my content creation abilities.

The Importance of Supplier Diversity

In 2015, Forbes named Grand Rapids as the second worst city in the nation for African Americans to prosper. This came as a stark contrast to the long list of accolades the region receives on an annual basis. Our community has been tackling this topic head-on, but there is still a lot more work to be done. Which is why The Right Place recently hosted an Investor Breakfast at the West Michigan Center for Arts and Technology (WMCAT) on the topic of Supplier Diversity.
